In Spain, it is common to find Chorizo sausages on almost every menu. It is a staple item in the Spanish diet and used in many traditional recipes. Chorizo is a dry-cured sausage made with pork. Blazquez Chorizo is unique in that it is made with the incredible Ibérico pork of the Spanish black-footed pig. Produced in western Spain, it is seasoned with paprika to give it both a kick of flavour and colour. The nutty aromas and delicious marbling fat give this chorizo a taste unlike any other cured sausage. The ruby red colour of the meat combined with the fiery redness of the paprika allow this chorizo to pop on a platter or in a dish. Jamon Ibérico is a native cerdo breed that comes from western Spain near the Salamanca. The pigs live in the forests of the Dehasa and are raised humanely. They feed on fresh pastures, herbs, flowers, and high-quality grains. The pork is mixed with paprika, oregano, garlic and wrapped in natural pork casings. It is cured for several weeks in open air rooms up in fresh mountain air which influences the texture, taste and quality of the chorizo. Our Chorizo Ibérico is all natural without preservatives or additives and made with 100% Ibérico pork. The extra thick size will keep for months and is excellent for catering events or larger parties. It can be sliced or roughly chopped in pieces depending on your preference or recipes.
